This official Samsung tool lets you move data from one mobile device to another without having to go through tedious backup and restore operations. It works if you have an old phone manufactured by companies such as Apple, Blackberry, Nokia and LG and you want to migrate its data to a Samsung Galaxy SII, SIII, Note or Note II. The whole migration process is done using a step-by-step wizard that simplifies everything, so you don’t need advanced computer skills to use Samsung Smart Switch. To begin with, you’ll have to backup the data on your old phone (you probably have a stock app installed already for this). Then you need to connect the new device and launch Smart Switch. To continue, you’ll need to select the model of your old phone and the folder where the backup is located and then select the content you want to migrate.Ĭontacts, photos, music, messages, calendar, videos, memos, call logs, wallpapers and bookmarks will be quickly transferred onto the new device. Depending on the size of the content you selected for transfer, the migration procedure could take a while.
